Woods Double Double Helps Union Women's Basketball Topple Top Ranked Hostos

BRONX ,NY - The Union women's basketball team went on the road and defeated top ranked Hostos by a score of 58-49. The Owls tenacious trap defense was the key to victory caususing multiple turnovers, as Hostos could not get the ball up court effectively.

Sophomre Jessica Woods (Linden, NJ) was a force for Union with her first double doule of the season.  She scored 12 points and pulled down 10 boards.  Sophmore Yamel Abreu (Elizabeth, NJ) had another solid game with 19 points and 7 rebounds.  Sophomores Tania Scott (Newark, NJ)  and Jessica Washington (Irvington, NJ) each chipped in 13 points and 10 points respectively.  

With the win Union improves to 2-0 overall on the season.  Union women's basketball is next in action at the Murph Shapiro Tournament in Rochester, NY hosted by Monroe Communty College  on Saturday, November 10-Sunday, November 11.  They will face the Monroe College Express in the Saturday, November 10 match up at 2:00 pm.
