UCNJ Welcomes Jarod Crowe as Women's Volleyball Head Coach
Cranford, NJ — UCNJ is proud to announce the hiring of Jarod Crowe as the new Head Coach of the UCNJ Women’s Volleyball program. A rising coaching talent with deep local roots and championship credentials, Coach Jarod Crowe brings passion, energy, and a clear vision for the future of the Owls.
A Union native, Coach Jarod Crowe has spent the past few years coaching across multiple levels, including high school programs and elite club volleyball teams. His recent coaching experience includes leading roles at Union High School (boys and girls teams), St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and top-level club teams such as Garden State Elite and Conquest Volleyball. In that time, he has built a reputation for developing well-rounded athletes and competitive programs. His accomplishments include winning three club championships, capturing an in-season tournament title as a freshman boys coach, and contributing to a Region 19 Championship with UCNJ’s Men’s Volleyball team earlier in 2025.
“What inspired me to coach at UCNJ was the opportunity to build something meaningful at a place that feels like home,” said Crowe. “This is a great place to grow, make an impact, and start a journey that I truly believe in.”
His coaching philosophy is summed up in three simple words: Educate, Experience, and Impact—a framework built on teaching the game, learning through competition, and making a lasting difference in student-athletes’ lives.
Coach Jarod Crowe’s playing background adds another layer of experience – he was a varsity player at Union High School, followed by a career at Saint Elizabeth University. There, he helped guide his team to back-to-back conference championship appearances and earned All-Conference First and Third Team honors. He continued his competitive career with Sitch VBC, a semi-pro team, and was part of the squad that won the USAV Open Nationals Championship (Copper Division).
“What I love most about coaching is how much I continue to learn from the athletes,” he said. “I’ve been in their shoes, and being able to relate to their journey makes this work incredibly rewarding.”
With his mix of local pride, competitive fire, and developmental mindset, Coach Jarod Crowe is ready to lead the UCNJ Women’s Volleyball program into its next era.
