Puero Zamora and Michel Earn All-Region and All-GSAC Team Honors
Cranford, NJ – UCNJ Athletics is proud to recognize two standout student-athletes from the Women’s Volleyball team for their exceptional performances during the 2025 season. Sophomore Giany Puero Zamora and sophomore Neika Michel have both earned NJCAA All-Region XIX and All-Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) honors.
Puero Zamora Earns All-Region Third Team & All-GSAC Second Team Honors
Sophomore defensive specialist Giany Puero Zamora played a crucial role in the back row for the Owls this season, anchoring the defense with consistency and determination. She finished the year with 372 digs, averaging an impressive 4.43 digs per set, while also contributing 39 service aces.
Puero Zamora’s court awareness, serve receive accuracy, and leadership made her a reliable presence for the Owls throughout the season. Her efforts earned her a place on the NJCAA Region XIX Third Team and the All-GSAC Second Team, marking her as one of the top defensive players in the region and conference.
Michel Earns All-Region Second Team & All-GSAC First Team Honors
A dominant offensive force for the Owls, sophomore Neika Michel led the team with 250 kills, averaging 3.25 kills per set. Michel also contributed 23 service aces and 119 digs, showcasing her all-around skill set and ability to impact every match.
Her powerful hitting and consistency helped drived the Owls’ success throughout the season. Michel’s outstanding play earned her spots on the NJCAA Region XIX Second Team and the All-GSAC First Team, recognizing her as one of the strongest offensive players in both the region and conference.
Their recognition at both the regional and conference levels highlights the team’s continued growth and success.
