The Owls Make it Five in a Row
Dedication and grit are the best words to describe this game. Rowan College South Jersey Gloucester entered the Owl's nest with victory as their only goal. The Owls had other plans. The team started the game struggling to finish on offense. There were plenty of missed opportunities left on the court through the first half. At one point Union County College trailed by almost 20 points but tightened up in the closing minutes of the first to go into halftime down by 14. Coach D. rallied his players and set a fire under the entire team during halftime because they set their eyes on the prize and started their climb back into the game. The final few minutes saw the teams trading one point leads but in the final second Ibn Lynn drove for the hoop and gave his team the lead with 0.5 seconds left on the clock.
This game showed the tenacity of Union's Men's Basketball team and extended their streak to 5 in a row.
Ibn Lynn took the lead for the Owls recording 20 points. Shyheim Powell kept pushing right behind with 19 points and 19 assists. Amir Lynn came in and added 15 points while Stephon Fauntry scored 13. Isiah McCallum had 9 points and 10 rebounds.
The Owls look to continue their streak as they travel to Ocean County College Thursday, February 4.
