UCNJ Athletics Host First Sophomore Send Off
Cranford, NJ - On Thursday, April 30, UCNJ Athletics hosted its first Sophomore Send-Off Celebration in the Richel Student Commons, honoring sophomore student-athletes for their dedication, achievements, and contributions both in the classroom and in competition over the past two years.
The celebration recognized the hard work and commitment of UCNJ’s sophomore class as they prepare for the next chapter in their academic and athletic journeys. The event served as an opportunity for the department to thank the student-athletes for representing the Owls with pride and to remind them that, “Once an Owl, Always an Owl!”
UCNJ Athletics takes great pride in supporting student-athletes every step of the way as they work toward earning their college degrees, transferring to four-year universities, or entering the workforce. Throughout their time at UCNJ, these student-athletes have demonstrated determination, leadership, and resilience while balancing the demands of academics and athletics. Through every challenge, they continued to represent UCNJ with pride, including seasons spent constantly on the road for both home and away contests while our gymnasium undergoes renovations.
Director of Athletics Marbely Montas recognized the dedication and perseverance displayed by the sophomore student-athletes throughout their time with the Owls.
“Those who are graduating and those who have proudly completed their two years of athletic eligibility have been the heart, hustle, and spirit of the program,” said Montas.
Montas also reflected on the tremendous growth each student-athlete has shown during their time at UCNJ, both personally and athletically. To commemorate the occasion, UCNJ Athletics presented each sophomore student-athlete with a special gift in recognition of their hard work and accomplishments.
The UCNJ Athletics Department and Director Montas wish all sophomore student-athletes continued success in their future endeavors and look forward to seeing all they accomplish beyond UCNJ.
