Zanaya Parsons Named DII Women's Basketball GSAC Player of the Week

Cranford, NJ - Congratualtions to UCNJ women's basketball, Zanaya Parsons for being named DII Women's Basketball GSAC Player of the Week!

After a dominant three game stretch that featured three straight double-doubles, and powered the Owls to a 3–0 week -- Zanaya Parsons has been named GSAC DII Player of the Week. Zanaya opened with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, and a block in UCNJ's 84–60 win at Raritan Valley Community College on November 18th, then followed with a game-high 24 points, 10 rebounds, 7 steals, and 2 blocks in an 86–59 victory over Essex County College on November 20th. She then closed the week on November 22nd against Middlesex College with 16 points, 15 rebounds, 1 assist, 5 steals, and 2 blocks, capping an all-around standout performance.

For the week, Parsons averaged 19.3 points, 11.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 5.3 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game, while shooting a remarkable 79% from the field. Owls will take a break this weekend and will open December with a match against Salem Community College on the 2nd at 5pm.
